Cyprus native Hussein Chalayan graduated from London’s Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in 1993 and caused an international sensation with his graduate collection- decomposed silk dresses he had buried and exhumed. One of fashions most prolific and progressive designers, Chalayan has produced more than 20 collections and twice been crowned British designer of the year (1999 and 2000). He draws inspiration from architectural theories, science, and technology.
