Emily Jerome is a native New Yorker and graduate of Columbia University where she studied art history, film and Mandarin. She started crafting JEROME, her eponymous knit line, when she moved to Los Angeles in 2009. Jerome’s inspirations are based on research developed as an art history major and as a journalist. Jerome has covered cutting-edge environmental stories for CBS News, and Interview magazine. In 2008 she served as an international correspondent and photojournalist for The Economist in Havana, Cuba, covering dissident artists and punk-rock musicians. Jerome further credits her aesthetic influence to her godfather, the seminal American artist, Donald Judd, as she grew up amidst Judd’s graphic colors, minimalist shapes, and most importantly, his collection of ethnic textiles and African masks. All of Emily's clothes are eco-friendly.
